Thanks to some awesome people over at PPCGeeks and XDA-Developers you can now dual boot Android on your Touch Pro 2! We are not responsible for any damage you may do to your device.

You can now Dual Boot Android via an SD-Card on your phone with a few very easy steps!

1. Download Flyer2114′s Android Files HERE. (CDMA ONLY, if you want GSM go HERE.)

2. Extract the folder and put all of the contents on the root your SD Card. (What I do is create a new folder on my SD Card and drag everything previously on the card into it. I then copy all of the files from the extracted folder to the root of the SD Card.) So it should look something like this on your phone: “\Storage Card\[all of the files from the zipped folder here]”

3. Run Haret.exe from your phone. It may take up to 20 minutes to boot the first time. If you get stuck AFTER BOOTING INTO ANDROID, try turning the phone off and then back on – by pulling the battery. I had to do this because it would not allow me to use the touch screen.

Since android on your Touch Pro 2 is still in development unfortunately not everything is working perfectly.

Working

- Phone Calls, SMS
- Data: I have only tested with Sprint. Let us know if it works with others in the comments. (It should work)
- Microphone and Ear piece. (In call only)
- Wi-Fi (No WEP. WPA/Unprotected is fine)
- Keyboard
- Backlight Control

Partially Working

- Touchscreen (It’s a bit glitchy)
- Battery Status
- Power Management

Not Working

- Sound
- Speakerphone
- Bluetooth
- Camera
- GPS
- Hardware 3D Accelerator
- USB Mass Storage Device (Connecting to your PC)

Pandora on TP2

UPDATE: As commenters have pointed out this only works with MightyROM (CDMA only) – Sorry about that. I’ll try to figure this out. Until then just use the old work around.

UPDATE #2: Try Slacker. It’s basically the exact same as Pandora on your Phone! Download Official CAB From Their Site Here!

Unfortunately Pandora.com has yet to release an application for all of us with Touch Pro’s and Touch Pro 2′s, but thanks to some awesome people over at XDA-Developers we now have an easy solution to install Pandora Internet Radio on our Touch Pro 2′s!

I have tested this on my Sprint Touch Pro 2 running MightyROM – Although I don’t think it will matter which ROM you’re using. The application was an easy install and I haven’t had any errors. I didn’t have to change any settings or any registry settings.

Install
1. Download and install this .cab file
2. Enjoy!

This may or may not work on other phones such as the Touch Pro 1. Let us know in the comments and we’ll be sure to update this post!

Unlocked TP2

FLASH THIS HARD-SPL AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Thanks to cmonex and the Rhodium Elite Team you can now unlock your CDMA Touch Pro! This means you can now flash to any ROM you desire! This has been highly anticipated by the PPCGeeks and XDA-Developers communities as well as by thousands of other proud Touch Pro 2 owners.

Due to many people unlocking multiple devices, to unlock you will be required to have a license. It is easy to acquire, but only one per person. Do not attempt to unlock your GSM touch pro, as this will brick your device!

cmonex/olipro’s original hard-spl post

How to unlock your Touch Pro 2

Steps:
1) Download newest RhodiumW Hard-SPL package and extract this to an empty folder.
2) You must Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!!! the device needs to be connected to Activesync or WMDC via USB cable. and it must not be in Flight/Airplane mode (i.e. the phone part should be on).
3) Internet access is required as the program checks online for updates and for the license.
4) Run Rhodium-HardSPL.exe on your PC, make sure it’s launched from a local drive (not through network drive, etc.). running it on XP requires Admin logon, and Vista/Windows 7 will automatically prompt to allow it to run in Admin mode, so allow it please.
important: if you get an antivirus warning, please ignore it, it contains no harmful code (just used a packer to compress it). if you encounter DEP errors, then add it to the exception list in DEP settings.
5) Follow steps as prompted in the Hard-SPL program. if this is the first run of Hard-SPL on a device after hard reset, you must select Automatic flash mode (the first button in Welcome screen).
notes: you should usually go for Automatic flash mode; the Manual flash option is only to be used as noted below – any other errors triggered while running in Autoflash mode will have to be fixed as instructed in the error message.
6) It will ask you to wait while it prepares for the flashing, press OK.
7) Now it should go through without any error messages, if one does pop up, then please follow the instructions included in the error text. if no specific instruction is shown, then ask for help in the forums, but this should not ever occur (as this means a really fatal error occurred).
at this point the device did hopefully went to a black screen. this is the SSPL version, which is temporary. then RUU (Rom Update Utility) will instantly launch.
9) Some notes: when RUU says it will perform a hard reset and cause data loss, do not worry, it is not going to do this. also when it says the flash will take 10 minutes, ignore that, it will only take a minute or so.
10) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
11) To confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 1.00.OliNex, which is the current Hard-SPL version.

The Hard-SPL was released 10/30/2009! The TP2 Community appreciates all of the hard work put into creating this! Thanks!

midomiOne of the greatest application on the iPhone is Shazam. The reason it is so great, is you can get the name instantly of any song you’re listening to! The only problem is that it’s not on Windows Mobile. Well some people created an alternative; MusicID for the Touch Pro, Touch Diamond, and Touch Pro 2. It works, but is slow and won’t work half of the time. I rarely used the MusicID due to how unreliable it was.

Well thankfully I recently stumbled upon Midomi! It looks great and functions even better! This is the greatest application I have yet to find for windows mobile!

Benefits:
- Sing Mode (sing songs)
- Grab Mode (listen to exact song)
- Hum songs, instantly see list of best matches, preview songs

This is a high quality applications. Give it a try today!

Q-Mobile 1.6.57 Download (Works on VGA and WVGA Devices! That means Touch Pro, and Touch Pro 2!)
