We recently got our hands on one of the highly anticipated Palm Prē’s, that recently launched at Sprint. My first impression was how small the device seemed. It looked like a little pebble! Almost too small! But then again, my current device is a monstrous HTC Touch Pro.
The Palm Prē was very intuitive. My favorite part, was the universal search! I just typed ”fluffy phones” into the device, clicked google, and had the search listings in front of me in less than 10 seconds. The gestures were easy to get used to, and seemed quite helpful. The keyboard was also awesome, but coming from the large Touch Pro keyboard, it felt very small. The device as a whole was very small. It is the complete opposite of the Touch Pro. The Prē feels smaller than it actually is, and the Touch Pro feels MUCH larger than in actuality.
Pro’s:
- Liquidity – The OS is as smooth as the iPhone. The Browser is actually better than the iPhone!
- Universal Search
- Small Size
- Physical Keyboard
- Background Applications
- Card View – it’s my favorite part!
Con’s:
- Small Selection in App Store – This will change in time
- Small Physical Keyboard (I know, this is also a Pro)
- Screen Attracts Finger Grease
