Pandora is one of the greatest ways to listen to music on-the-go. You can listen to your favorite music using a web browser, a desktop widget, and using the Pandora App on the iPhone and Palm Pre. While these are great, that still leaves the majority of Windows Mobile users in the dark(although pandora does support a few old QVGA devices).

People have been successful with installing and listening to music on their Touch Pro’s, don’t get me wrong. But one of the main problems was the fact that it would rarely play a whole song. Well thanks to the mobile communities over at PPCGeeks and XDA-Developers, we have finally come up with a pandora.cab file that works!

To get Pandora working on your Touch Pro / Diamond:
1. Download the Pandora.cab (mirror)
2. If you don’t already have it, download Advanced Config Tool 3.3 (mirror)
3. Install both applications and open Advanced Config Tool
4. While in the Advanced Config Tool, navigate to Network>TCP Window and change the value to 98304
5. Save your changes, and soft-reset.
6. Download This VGA/EXE Fix (mirror)
7. Replace the orginal .exe (in \Program Files\Pandora\Pandora.exe) with the one from the VGA/EXE Fix above. (Can’t copy?)
8. Enjoy!

You should now have full songs playing in your Pandora App on your Windows Phone in BEAUTIFUL VGA!!! This is confirmed working on WM6.1

Diamond Users: Map the keyboard (input) to the long send button (settings>buttons). Then when you open Pandora, hold down send and it should bring the keyboard up. Thanks Adam!

Fluffy Intro:

So you just ditched PPC Pim Backup because you thought you found the next best thing – Microsoft MyPhone – right? You also just reflashed your phone without backing up your contacts the old fashioned way because you thought that your contacts were safely backed up with Microsoft MyPhone. Come to find out, when you try to sync your freshly flashed windows mobile phone with Microsoft MyPhone, the sync hangs at 60% (or another random percentage). The point is, you can’t get your contacts. Well, my friends, I believe I have found the solution!

The Solution:

I have reason to believe that I found out how to get past the sync hang-up and get your contacts back on your phone.

If you have an old PPC Pim Backup that you did before still residing on your internal storage (or storage card) then you just may be in luck. All you should have to do is open the PPC Pim Backup program from your internal storage (or storage card) and process a restore (from your outdated PPC Pim contacts backup) and go through the motions of restoring it the old fashioned way. After you do this, open up Microsoft MyPhone and try to sync again.

This is what I did, and it just happened to push my phone past it’s lag on the contact sync. I got this to work using a Sprint Diamond on Mighty’s Reborn ROM just for the record.

I hope this helps someone. This is obviously not a permanent solution to this problem, only a temporary patch (if that). I realize there is very minimal information on this problem on the web, and I also know that Microsoft is ‘aware of the issue’ and ‘working on a fix’ but we all know how that goes.

Peace out Fluffyers. Let us know if this worked out for you.

(download the Microsoft MyPhone Beta Cab)

Intro Fluff:

If you try out a lot of ROMs like we do here at Fluffy Phones, then there is a good chance that you may have run into the same situation that I just ran in to:

You were on a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM that had the Microsoft MyPhone Beta cab preinstalled. You got everything all registered, and set up. Then you decided that the bleeding-edge ROM that you are on actually sucks. So you decide to flash back to a more stable ROM, like Mighty’s REBORN ROM. Things are dandy, but wait! Your contacts are gone, and the new ROM you just flashed to doesn’t have the MyPhone Beta app installed so your contacts are lost forever!

Sound like the situation you’re in? Well, dear browser, have no fear! Fluffy is here!

MyPhone Beta .Cab:

Go to this RapidShare link, and begin the free download.

Not sure how to install a .Cab file?

Learn Here!

After you have installed the myPhone Beta Cab on your device, you can then run the app as you normally would, sign in, then begin the synchronization process.

I hope this helped! Leave comments if you have any questions!

Resco File Explorer is pretty much a glorified version of the File Explorer that is standard on you Windows Mobile phone. Resco lets you view hidden files and folders and it allows you to more easily navigate and overwrite those files. Resco has a completely free, fully functional 7-day trial, but it costs $30 bucks to own. But what you’re probably going to be using Resco File Explorer for will probably take a lot less than 7 days. Not to mention, each time you hard reset your device, you can re-install Resco File Explorer and it doesn’t know how long you have actually been using it. We recommend purchasing the software just so you can sleep better at night, but it’s your choice.

How To Do It:

1. Download the free Resco File Explorer trial by clicking here then clicking “downloads.”

2. Then click the English “CAB File (2″. (Just the “CAB basic file”)

3. Install the cab on your device. (Learn how to install a CAB file on to your Windows Phone.)
