Rhodium Manila Sucks. No Offense. 3 Reasons Why.

Fluffy Rant:

Just when you thought that texting on your HTC Diamond couldn’t get worse, you flashed to one of the newest, bleeding-edge ROM’s and lo and behold – Rhodium was staring you in the face. The first time I installed Rhodium, the only thing I noticed was a somewhat enhanced visual experience. Unfortunately, with Rhodium, function follows form and I’m definitely not a big fan of the slow and clunky interface.

3 Fluffy Reasons:

1. Too Slow!

I prefer bare bones and quick, to bulky graphics (as nice as they may look) and slow.

2. Too fat!

When I’m trying to text message, I click inside of the ‘send’ field and between the fat Rhodium graphics and my onscreen keyboard, I can’t see any part of the conversation that I was having. Sometimes I forget what I was going to say and I have to minimize my keyboard just to look at the conversation. Then the Rhodium ‘send’ box shrinks and to get back in to it, I have to click and navigate to the end of the box. Talk about cumbersome.

3. Unnecessary Graphics

Do I really need to see a mini icon of the picture of the person I’m texting with? A name alone is usually enough for me. Sure, it may look nice, but I’d rather not wait 5 minutes for the conversation to load just so I can see my contact’s cute little mug.

Fluffy Advice:

If you’re anything like us here at Fluffy, you’re spending a lot of time reading ppcgeeks, xda-developers and many other Windows Mobile forums waiting for new ROM’s and cabs to Fluff out your phone. Save yourself time and don’t flash your phone to a ROM if the cook brags that it has Rhodium on it. It’s a waste of time and you will want to flash back to whatever it was that you had before. I promise.
